Mesa Family Smiles carries the legacy of Bryce Justensen DDS into its next chapter. Same Mesa neighborhood, same emphasis on personal attention — now led by Dr. Bradley Smith and equipped with the diagnostic technology of a modern practice.
Mesa Family Smiles is the continuation of a single-doctor practice that has cared for East Mesa families for four decades — first as Bryce Justensen DDS, and today under Dr. Bradley Smith.
The doors at 2830 E Brown Road have been open to patients for more than forty years. Across those decades, generations of the same Mesa families have rotated through the same waiting room — children who grew up here are now bringing children of their own.
When Dr. Brad Smith took over the practice, the goal was simple: keep what worked, and quietly upgrade what didn't. The chairs that hold a story stayed. The diagnostic equipment got an overhaul. Cone Beam 3D imaging, intraoral 3D scanning, AI-enhanced radiography, and in-office CAD/CAM design were brought in so that nearly everything — from a same-day crown to an implant plan — could happen here, on Brown Road, without a referral across town.
What hasn't changed is the pace of an appointment. Dr. Smith believes comfort and understanding are the most important parts of patient care, and he will spend as much time as necessary to help a patient feel taken care of. That is not a marketing line we made up — it is the rhythm of every visit.
"The office atmosphere can be best described as one consistently demonstrating genuine attention and concern for the patient and his or her welfare and satisfaction."
Originally from Oregon, Dr. Smith grew up with a love for the outdoors and an early passion for helping others. He graduated from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, then began practicing dentistry in Plano, Texas. In 2020 he moved his family — and his practice — to Arizona.
He prides himself on a conservative, gentle approach. He believes comfort and understanding are the most important aspects of patient care, and will spend as much time as necessary to help a patient feel taken care of.
Every patient at Mesa Family Smiles is treated to the same standard, whether the visit is a six-month cleaning or a multi-stage implant plan.
We treat what needs treating — nothing more. When a watchful eye is the right answer, that is the recommendation.
Every procedure is walked through before it starts. Patients leave knowing exactly what was done and why.
CBCT 3D imaging, intraoral 3D scans, AI radiography, and CAD/CAM design — used because they make care more accurate, not flashier.
Kids, parents, grandparents — all in the same practice, often back-to-back. Multi-generational care is the rhythm we know best.
Single location. Single doctor. Quiet operatories. The same staff who greet you at the door will see you through the appointment. There is no surprise-handoff to another office, no shuffle to a distant specialist for routine procedures.
For over four decades, the original practice built a reputation in East Mesa for steady, generational family dentistry.
After practicing in Plano, Texas, Dr. Bradley Smith relocated to Arizona and joined the Brown Road practice.
Same address. Same neighborhood loyalty. New name, current technology, and the same patient-first pace.
"Excellent treatment all the way around. I'm a new patient and when I walked in I was greeted warmly. I was called back early and had everything that was going to be done explained to me in detail. Dr Smith is professional, courteous and attentive."
"I had some work done for the first time today. My dr did a wonderful job as did his assistant also. I was very comfortable from the second Tammy greeted me as I walked in the door. This is definitely my office and already have friends booking their appointments."
"I had an excellent experience at this dental office. The dentist did a great job adding a cap and completing several fillings. Everything was explained clearly, the work was done very well, and I was comfortable the entire time. The attention to detail and professionalism really stood out."
Whether you're due for a cleaning, weighing an implant plan, or just looking for a dentist who explains things first — we'd be glad to meet you.
